Terms of Use
Your privacy is VERY important to use. In fact, the entire LoveaMate community is built on trust and respect for each other. We have taken, and will continue to take, every step possible to safeguard your involvement with LoveaMate. Below lists some of the methods we employ to keep you anonymous.
1. Block Member - By blocking another member, that person will not be able to send you messages.
2. No Cookies - A cookie is a digital signature left on your hard drive by websites. Their "purpose" is to save pertinent user information, to enhance your surfing experience. LoveaMate does not leave a Cookie on your hard drive. (To kill you web trail, see below)
3. No contact - Other than sending a message to your LoveaMate inbox (which is password protected), you will not be contacted by LoveaMate. We do not call you. We do not send email to your private email address, with the exception of a single email during the Join Now process. Emails may be sent to your private email if you request LoveaMate to contact you when you receive LoveaMate replies in your inbox.
4. Eject! - Eject is a handy option in case your significant other's divorce lawyer is hot on the trail. All records are destroyed.
5. Great White Holdings, Inc - This third party corporation will appear on your credit card company, not LoveaMate. This Delaware corporation was formed for the purpose of hiding your identity.
6. Bail Out! Click at any time to go to a more "innocent" website (use if your significant other peeks in)
7. Inbox - You will receive your own inbox at LoveaMate, so incriminating email won't be sent to your personal email address.
8. No Animations or Sounds - LoveaMate does not have any animated banners or sounds that can draw attention to your computer screen.
9. Private Picture - You picture can be password protected so that only those you allow can see you. You may also choose your picture to be distinguishable or non-distinguishable.
10. No paperwork - The LoveaMate community entirely virtual (employees are not permitted to print), so there no chance someone will "find" your profile laying on the office floor.
11. Password encrypted admin area - The admin area is safe. We can't say how, but we will hint that a username and 15 digit PIN passwords are needed to get in (that is IF you know where "in" is).
12. Members only - Only members can contact you.
How to clear your web trail (For Windows Only):
A. Right click on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. Select "Properties." Select "Start Menu Programs." Select "Clear." You have just removed the stored recent websites you have visited that otherwise could be found in the Internet Explorer pull-down menu.
B. Click "Start" then "Find" then "Files or Folders." In the "Named:" box type "cookies." Make sure the "Look In:" box has your "C:" drive selected. (If not, use the pull-down menu to select it). Click "Find Now." Double click in the "Cookies" folder most likely located in "C:\Windows." A window should open with many text documents shown. Each one of these documents is a digital signature left by websites you visited. Do you see loveamate.com? You won't because we don't invade your privacy. Select "Edit" from the pull-down menu at the top. Select "Select All." Let up on the shift key and press the Ctrl key. Select the "Index.dat" file. This file should now be undeleted. This file cannot be deleted and if left unselected, will give you an error message later. HOLD DOWN THE SHIFT BOTTON select "delete" from the "File" pull-down menu. Click "Yes" to the delete dialog box. This deletes all of the digital signatures in your cookie folders. Holding "Shift" lets your computer know you are sure you want to delete. If you don't hold shift down, the files will be "deleted" to the "recycling bin." This is a built-in feature of Microsoft that allows you a midway point between save and delete. Unfortunately for us, a significant other can find the signatures in the recycling bin. Once fully deleted, the signatures are gone until you visit a "cookie embedding" website again.
